Sourdough Discard Pancakes

Quick, easy, delicious.

The perfect excuse to use up that extra sourdough discard!

Makes 12-14 Pancakes | Prep Time: 5 minutes | Cook Time | 20 minutes

INGREDIENTS

Dry ingredients:

  • 2 cups all purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 3 tablespoons sugar (or honey)

  • 1 teaspoon salt

Wet ingredients:

  • 1 cup sourdough starter discard

  • 1 ¾ cup milk

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Pre-heat skillet for about 15 minutes on medium-low heat. You want the heat to be evenly distributed to cook multiple pancakes at once!

  2. Combine the dry ingredients first, then mix in the wet ingredients. There will be some lumps, that’s okay.

  3. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter on the skillet. Add ¼ cup of batter and cook for 3 minutes, or until bubbles begin to form.

  4. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

NOTES

  • These are perfect to make in advance and freeze for fast, easy weekday breakfasts!
